Do I have to book to come along to classes?
Yes. Please book your place in any of our classes before you come along to the studio. We do have limited places in our classes to retain personal attention and make sure you are working safely and effectively. We cannot guarantee you a place without booking.
Why are your classes smaller than other places I have seen?
We could make our classes bigger but to get the real benefit of any exercise it is important the technique is correct and safe. With smaller classes we can work with everyone personally and make sure that all clients are working at their safest and to get the best results. It also gives the studio a really great supportive, friendly atmosphere. You will get to know the people and have fun whilst getting fit with the people in your class.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear close fitting clothes (e.g. leggings, fitted t-shirts, leotards) as this makes it easier for the instructor to check body alignment and position where bulky tops/jumpers can distort the body shape. During the winter particularly we recommend a long sleeved or close fitting fleecey type top (especially for Pilates. Layers are recommended for other classes) to help maintain body temperature during very cold weather. For Pilates you may also wish to wear socks in which case we recommend socks or sock type slippers with grips underneath to help prevent any slipping during the exercises.
What should I bring?
Mats, towels and equipment are already provided. You may wish bring water or a water bottle to fill up. We advise you do not eat a large meal at least 1 hour prior to each session ( or more for Kettlercise/boxercise).
What other information do I need?
Prior to consultations or other classes you will be required to complete a health and fitness form to provide us with details on your aims, current fitness and health information and any injuries or conditions you may have.
When do I need a consultation?
A consultation will be required prior to any personal training session either Pilates or otherwise. If you are new to exercise or Pilates or have any conditions/injuries that you think will affect your technique within a class, you may wish to have a consultation prior to joining a class.
